Temporary H.R. Generalist
(9 month Contract)

Location: New Ross, Co Wexford, Ireland
Department: Human Resources
Reports to:H.R Director
To provide practical advice and direction to all supervisors, managers and employees while at all times adhering to the principal duties and responsibilities

Accountabilities include:

  • Complete the recruitment and selection needs for all employees
  • Provide advice and support on HR issues to Supervisors, Managers and employees.
  • Ensure that all avenues to employee communications and employee problem solving are kept open and effective. 
  • Ensure that all disagreements or disputes are resolved internally without third party intervention.
  • Assist employee and management needs through individual counselling, the use of problem resolution processes, assistance with the communication of feedback, and co-ordination of the disciplinary procedures. 
  • Ensure that the Core HR system is maintained to include salary adjustments, sick pay and vacation allowance, time and attendance.
  • Ensure that Line Managers review their employees on a monthly basis and annual employee reviews during probation while reporting any discrepancies which can be dealt with in a timely manner. 
  • Maintain headcount, employee records, monitor attendance and provide the necessary means re same.
  • Facilitate company social activities such as social committee etc.
  • Administer, maintain and facilitate the Lake Region VHI and pension scheme.
  • Ensure proactive response to all employee complaints, whether internally or externally generated, by seeking root cause for problems and correcting them at source.
  • Maintain and regularly updated Lake Region Medical Job Description folder.
  • Assist with the Standard Work Compliance checks.
  • Liaise with employee, supervisor and EHS following any incidents on site.
  • Review, develop and implement HR policies, procedures and practices in line with “Best Practice” and also in conjunction with HR strategy and employment legislation.
  • Ensure that the company remains compliant with changing legislation in the area of labour and employment law.
  • Keep up to date on all HR developments within the industry and locality.

Skills and Knowledge:

  • Must be able to communicate and work with people inside and outside the HR Dept while at all times using excellent interpersonal skills and presenting a professional, friendly and courteous image of Lake Region Medical.
  • Excellent communication and listening skills while at all times ensuring confidentiality to employees
  • Good interviewing skills and aptitude testing skills whereby, getting the best candidates for Lake Region Medical.
  • Have good conflict resolution skills and have the ability to act as a facilitator
  • Ability to be able to foster a good working relationship with all staff.
  • Have excellent attention to detail and be able to work on one’s own initiative.
  • Be computer literate with a good working knowledge of all Microsoft Office packages with the ability to maintain various systems in an accurate and up to date manner.
  • Good understanding of Irish Employment Legislation concerning the requirements for employees and employers regarding rights and obligations.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Third level qualification in Human Resource Management.
  • Minimum 5 years experience in a similar role
  • Strong employee relations experience

Industrial Engineer
Location: New Ross, Co Wexford, Ireland
Department: Continuous Improvement
The Industrial Engineer will be responsible for analyzing, designing, and implementing manufacturing and business process improvements that increase capacity, reduce lead-time, reduce the work-in-process and improve process flow and efficiency.

Projects will incorporate lean manufacturing, theory of constraints, quick response manufacturing, Just-In-Time, Methods-Time Measurement, or a variety of other systems improvement philosophies. 

The employee will  be required to create strong relationships with team members internal and external to Lake Region Medical to ensure project success.

Competencies / Skills:

  • Can successfully operate in a team environment
  • Proven project management skills and leadership and demonstrated ability to execute and manage complex projects and programs
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Experience implementing C.I. / Lean methodologies such as Kanban, VSM, & A3  
  • Experience on machinery/process setup time reduction projects
  • Understanding of performance metrics such as OEE, Mean Time Between Failures, Uptime/Downtime, etc
  • Experience developing standards (labor/machine) and performing resource modeling
  • Expertise with MS Office applications including MS Project

Qualifications:

  • Degree in Industrial Engineering essential.

  • Minimum 5 years directly related experience.

  • Experience in Lean Manufacturing / Operational Excellence related roles.

The incumbent should be a highly motivated person with Continuous Improvement experience. Experience on equipment/process improvement in the medical device manufacturing industry will be preferred. The ideal candidate will have experience in equipment/process setup time reduction projects. Must be willing to work on shift as is required to observe process steps and equipment setup activities.

Senior Quality Engineer
Location: New Ross, Co Wexford, Ireland

The Senior Quality Engineer will primarily be responsible for maintaining and improving where necessary all quality systems and monitoring production process for compliance to implemented process controls.

Accountabilities Include:

  • Developing and maintaining quality world class systems related to the manufacture of guide wires while developing employee efficiencies
  • Direction for quality in two product manufacturing areas
  • The co-ordination and control of one of the key components of the Lake Region Medical quality system.
  • Direction of the relevant inspectors in area of responsibility
  • Direction of the relevant quality engineers in area of responsibility
  • Playing a role in the plant annual objectives.
  • Ensure continued compliance with all Regulatory Standards. This includes:
    • ISO 13485
    • FDA QSR
    • ISO 14000
    • Ensuring continued compliance with DMR

  • Monitor production process for compliance to implemented process controls to ensure quality product is shipped to customer and provide:
    • Trend analysis of data from the controls
    • Potential improvements for review with engineering based on the trends.
    • Areas for Improvement to senior management.
    • Review and propose changes to sampling plans based on trend analysis and changes to the system.
  • Support the RCA meetings to ensure that internal and customer concerns are handled and dealt with in an appropriate manner
  • Develop and maintain a program ensuring only correctly validated equipment is used in production process. This will include:
    • Participation in validation protocol development
    • Overseeing completion of validation or validation samples
    • Supporting the manufacturing engineering function to ensure compliance to related element of quality system.
  • Supervision of quality engineer to ensure compliance for their areas of responsibility for
    • implemented process controls,
    • assuring product quality,
    • qualification and validation
    • quality direction for RCAs, RTAs, technical issues related to regulatory queries,
  • Project meeting attendance as required
  • Attend and participate in daily cell meetings

Skills and Knowledge:

  • Ability to communicate and work with people inside and outside the department.
  • Good communicator (written and oral)
  • Ability to train and lead
  • Ability to co-ordinate, plan and organise in a timely manner
  • Knowledge of engineering theories and methods
  • Good technical report writing skills
  • Rigorous attention to detail

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Engineering or science Degree preferably with Quality Engineering included.
  • Minimum 5-7 years relevant experience within a regulated environment
